Paxos Cycling Tour
Track
Our tour will start with a relaxing sail from Corfu island towards Paxos island. Our first stop will be at Lakka port. Lakka lies in a magnificent setting on the island of Paxos, at the head of a long, curving inlet where the water is of a startling shade of turquoise. Upon our desembarkation from the boat, we will pick up our mountain bikes and start cycling towards Loggos village.
Loggos is one of the prettiest villages on Paxos and the smallest coastal one. The tiny harbour of Loggos itself is enchanting, with a pleasantly intimate atmosphere and colourful enough for any artist or photographer. There are approximately 200 permanent inhabitants of Loggos - an indication of its size. The pastel-washed village buildings cluster around the quayside where fishermen quietly mend their nets, well aware they are the focus of many a camera but distinctly unimpressed by the attention. After we will cycle to Gaios.
Gaios is the largest of the three main settlements on the island of Paxos, and the only one that can be called a town, albeit a very small one. Gaios, the 'capital' of the island, shows its Venetian and British heritage in the colourful buildings that line the long harbour-front. At Gaios we will have plenty of time to cycle around, dine or shop for souvenirs. Our boat will leave Gaios at early afternoon when we will sail back to Corfu island.
